Indonesia-Singapore Friendly

IFFA will host the Indonesia-Singapore Friendly on 15-16 August, in which Indonesian Teams will play friendly matches against representatives from the Singaporean Flag Football Association. After the Kuningan Bombing a couple of weeks earlier, there has been uncertainties about whether the event can be hosted. But now the SFFA has confirmed that they will still be sending 13 people under the Green Devil Team (Green Devils' roster coming up), and they will be the one paying for their flight and accomodation at Hotel Mulia (we should thank them for that, otherwise this Friendly meeting would cost us big time).

There are four games scheduled for the event. The first three games will be held at August 15th in Senayan Hockey Field, Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta. In the first game the Green Devils will face the winner of IFFA last summer season: Veteran Fielders. After that, the runner up Balls of Fury Sixers are playing. Then the IFFA Rookie All Stars. They would better sending us machines and/or racehorses.

After a hard day of playing (three games against the IFFA best, it will be sore in the morning) the SFFA will be hosted with some off the field activity. IFFA is organizing a BBQ party at Dharma's House in Kemang at August 15th evening (MEAT!MEAT!MEAT!). Not everybody's invited, however, since the party is open to IFFA MEMBERS only, and there is an IDR 50,000 entrance fee.

The next day, Green Devils will be having another game against the best players of the IFFA (from all teams combined) before closing ceremony and leaving Indonesia.

This event is expected to be IFFA greatest event of the year, after our Senayanbowl of course, considering that this is our first international event happening in our first year of establishment. What makes it even greater that the event will be held close to our Independence Day. During last month chat in the forum, I can see that IFFA boys are very enthusiastic and feeling PATRIOTIC anticipating this event. That's one thing we surely want from sport right?

Indonesia-Singapore Friendly is a formal start of diplomatic ties between both flag football organization. Hopefully this event will start a lasting friendship and cooperation in developing american football in Indonesia and Singapore.
